And we have known and believed the love that God has for us. God is love, and he who abides in love abides in God, and God in him. (1 John 4:16)
God loves all mankind as parents love their own children. God desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth. His love extends to all nations and peoples. God’s most wonderful love is expressed in this fact: “God so loved the world that He gave His only Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life” (Jn 3:16).
God detests sins and iniquities, but loves sinners. The Parable of the Prodigal Son (Lk 15) describes how the heavenly Father desires for sinners to repent and to be accepted by Him. God is forbearing toward those who transgress against His commandment, in hope that all should reach salvation. The greatest love of God is manifested in how Jesus Christ died for us on the cross while we were still sinners. Through the death of the Lord Jesus, our sins are forgiven through water baptism. We are reconciled with God, and we have victory over sin and death.
God loves those who keep His commandments. God loves true believers who observe His words. The Lord Jesus exhorts His disciples: “He who has My commandments and keeps them, it is he who loves Me; and he who loves Me will be loved by my Father, and I will love him and manifest Myself to him” (Jn 14:21).
God is our heavenly Father. If we acknowledge the true God as our heavenly Father, He will lead us through our days on earth. His love and care for mankind is thorough and incomparable. He saved us and gave us the Bible as our standard of living. If we walk according to His will, God will be to us like a hen that hides her chicks under her wings and protect us. But if we are careless and sin against Him, God will also judge us and maintain justice. Thus, we should ask the Lord to grant us His grace and also help us remain in His love. We should plead with Him to dwell in our hearts so that He truly becomes the Father in our lives. The love of the Lord Jesus Christ will certainly make a great difference in our lives.
