He Is the Mighty God

“For by Him all things were created that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers. All things were created through Him and for Him.” (Col 1:16)

The words of Isaiah 9:6 are one of the most powerful prophecies testifying that the coming Christ is to be called “Mighty God.” Jesus created the world and upheld all things by the word of His power. Jesus is God from the beginning. He used the name ‘I AM’ (Jn 8:58) which was used by God when He appeared to Moses (Ex 3:14). God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him (Ac 10:38). Jesus’ mighty power is evident. The four Gospel books have recorded many miracles and wonders that Jesus performed. Today we can also experience His mighty power.

Joy in God’s Abundance

You make known to me the path of life;
In Your presence there is fullness of joy;
At Your right hand are pleasures forevermore.

Psalm 16:11

I love it when I enter an office with a full and equipped pantry. I can have breakfast to start the day energetically, healthy snacks to last me the day when I need an energy boost. The best part is that it never runs out because it is always well-stocked.

I Must Know One Thing

“But God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved), and raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, that in the ages to come He might show the exceeding riches of His grace in His kindness toward us in Christ Jesus.” (Eph 2:4-6)

Most people realize their parents’ love and sacrifice for them when they finally begin to mature in life.  When we begin to understand the love of our parents, we then desire to obviously love them back, serve them, and take care of them.  Imagine someone never seeing their parents’ love and sacrifice for them and thus treating them badly and disrespectfully. This would be such a shame.  Likewise, it is crucial that in our spiritual journey, we have the “aha” moment of realizing the depth of the Lord’s love for us.

Never Look Back

“A dog returns to his own vomit, and a sow, having washed, to her wallowing mire.” (2 Pet 2:22)

I still remember going to the zoo when I was little. I went to the pig section and saw these two humongous fat, smelly, dirty pigs sleeping together. There were flies crawling around their bodies, there’s mud everywhere and it smelled like dung all over the place. Everytime I go back to Taiwan, I always see stray dogs. There are always fleas and other bedraggled stuff on their fur. Being close to these animals just makes me queasy and my body just tells me to get out of there ASAP.
