Handle Anger Properly

“Be angry, and do not sin”: do not let the sun go down on your wrath, nor give place to the devil. (Eph 4:26-27)

Anger is our normal emotional response to a perceived threat, hurt, wrongful doing, or injustice. Anger isn’t always bad, but it must be handled appropriately. Why is it important to handle anger properly? If expressed thoughtlessly, anger can hurt others and destroy relationships. If bottled up inside, it can cause us to become bitter and destroy us from within. If we nurse our anger, we will give Satan a foothold which can divide us.

God’s Heart Crushed?

The word of the Lord came expressly to Ezekiel to priest…and the hand of the Lord was upon him there. (Ezekiel 1:3)

Ezekiel was already in captivity. He was among those first captives who were deported, those who were cast out of the promised land. Then why, oh why did God still send the word of God through Ezekiel since He was unhappy with them?

It is only when we connect this question with Ezekiel 6:9 that we get the answer: “Then those of you who escape will remember Me among the nations where they are carried captive, because I was crushed by their adulterous heart which has departed from Me, and by their eyes which play the harlot after their idols; they will loathe themselves for the evils which they committed in all their abominations.” Continue reading

Why Am I Still in the True Church?

On November 13, 2016, I was invited to attend a musical play in Taipei. Without knowing the details, I agreed to go with several True Jesus Church (TJC) brethren. Upon our arrival, I was told that the organizer of the play was an association for Christians of various denominations. Personally, I am not that keen on attending non-TJC activities for fear that they may affect my faith. But since I was already seated in the hall, I decided to stay until the end of the play. Moreover, I told myself that this play could bring forth invaluable knowledge for spiritual growth and personal development.

Their Wings Touched

Their wings touched one another…two wings of each one touched one another. (Ezekiel 1:9,11)

Be close enough to know each other’s heart, and to give and receive encouragement in the truth.

One of the most moving phrases in Paul’s writing to Timothy is, “…I remember you in my prayers night and day, greatly desiring to see you, being mindful of your tears…” (2 Tim 1:3-4).

Timothy’s sincerity in ministering met hard times. His wings seemed listless, then lifeless. The easiest way would have been just to let Timothy go home. But Paul knew God’s grace and gift had been with Timothy and still was. What Paul saw in Timothy was two levels: first, it appeared that Timothy wanted to give up, and second, Timothy had a genuine faith. Continue reading

Don’t Overworry, It’s Very Silly

Don’t worry about tomorrow,
What can it do?
Tell it to shoo!
Can’t you see your life by it becomes hollow?

Remember God takes care of the sparrow;
Worry too much,
God’s grace you won’t touch,
Why not His holy name hallow?

Take each day as it comes and be mellow,
Enjoy the spring and the summer,
A simple piece of bread and butter,
With thanksgiving, let your life sing as a cello.
