Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. (Philippians 2:9-11)
The exaltation of Jesus reached its climax in the lordship of Christ. At the name of Jesus, every knee should bow and every tongue should confess that He is Lord to the glory of God the Father. His was the hard way to glory — through His death on the cross and resurrection. However, in due time, God has highly exalted Him to the highest place, the place that He deserved as God’s equal, and to the position in which He is publicly proclaimed before heaven and earth.
